Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries
Dr Rebecca Laws holds a Bachelor of Science in biology, an honours degree and PhD in zoology, and a Graduate Certificate in higher education.
Since 2015, Rebecca has worked on several plant biosecurity projects in Biosecurity Queensland, within the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The most recent project she worked on before starting as Queensland’s BBO was an Australian Government Department of Agriculture funded project for which she collated and assessed information on hosts, risk pathways, management and treatment of the National Priority Plant Pests.
As an amateur beekeeper, Rebecca also has a personal understanding of the Australian honey bee industry, beekeeping practices and biosecurity.
